If I were asked what my favorite colors were, I would say dark mossy greens, coral

 and rich chocolate brown. There have been years that my favorite colors were navy and cranberry...

and even a country blue and beige period. I also really like many shades of green, i. e. apple and lime  and some shades of purple.  Although truth be told, I went through an  off-white/rusty white time... and I still do like to incorporate a bit here and there. The colorful fabric in the photo was gifted to me from my daughter and I have wanted to incorporate it somewhere in my home. All of the rooms' color schemes have been chosen for one reason or another, but my studio room make-over needs color  so what better place to use a very special piece of fabric? I would have to say that red is one of my least favorite colors and pink is just pink, but they are so rich in this fabric that I quite like them. As I organized my yarn stash, look what I found... bright coordinating colors. The other piece I found from my local big box and I think it works quite well. I have a few projects planned, more on that later. So, if you really wanted to know my favorite color, well I can hardly say I have just one.

February dishcloths

 The ladies in my family really like my crocheted dishcloths, so my goal is to crochet some each month. Posting them will help to me to keep track how many I actually get done and it's likely I'll make more than if I didn't record them. Three of these four will be on their way to new homes soon.

Someday I'm going to sew up a bunch of drawstring or zipper project bags, but until then I've been needing something to store my crochet projects in that would be around-the-house portable. This dark olive tweed vintage Mendel train case will be just the ticket. It's from an estate sale in Florida.

 I'm glad it has the original tray, perfect for notion-keeping. The tin 'love' box was used as a  favor at my daughter's wedding, which held M&M type candies in the wedding colors. Now it holds...

...my stitch markers.

The main compartment will easily hold 3 to 4 skeins or balls of yarn. I really enjoy being able to reuse and repurose objects from days gone by.

Christmas Yarn

New yarn for Christmas this year...

This yarn came from Iowa. Our nearest Hobby Lobby is about an hour away. I know they have a website, but there is no comparison to being able to see the colors and feel the yarn in person.

Knit Picks

For the wool, I'm planning on a shawl or wide scarf project- depending upon the yardage of the pattern.

I wanted to compare Knit Picks Dishie cotton with what I am currently using and I think the Cotlin will make something nice for spring.

At Christmas I received a coupon code from Knit Picks for five free skeins of yarn (their choice- a $20.00 value!)  with a $35.00 purchase. I was very pleased with their picks... a nice variety!
